Jack Webb, age 77, passed away Thursday morning at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
Jack was born in Treutlen County to the late T.J. Webb and Thelma Ely Webb. Jack sold insurance for American General in Macon and Gray for more than 30 years. He was always well liked among his customers and they treasured him as a friend. A lover of gospel music, Jack sang in the Southern Gospel group, the Webb Family Singers. He was known for his quick wit, singing abilities, and for the fact that he could fix anything. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Clarence Webb; and sisters, Veresta Smith and Betty Beasley.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Judy Moore Webb of Gray; sons, Randy Webb (Donna) of Midlothian, Virginia, and Curt McAlum (Dana) of Lancaster, South Carolina; daughter, Sandy Webb Bogue (Rodney) of Warner Robins; grandchildren, Ryan Webb, Lauren Webb Lusk (Matt), Riley Bogue, Reagan Bogue, Reese Bogue, Miranda Thornton, and Ashley McAlum; great grandchildren, Amerie and Heavin; sister, Bobbie Webb Meeks of Kite; brother, Robert Webb of Macon; and several nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by his constant canine companion, Scooter.
Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday in the Chapel of Crest Lawn Funeral Home. Reverend Jeff Thomas and Reverend Allen Meeks will officiate. A graveside service will take place at 5:00 P.M. on Saturday at Swainsboro City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Crest Lawn.
