James Donald Blount

Mr. James Donald Blount, 70, of Kite passed away Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at his residence following an extended illness.  He was born May 4, 1954, in Waycross to the late John Blount, Sr. and Yvonne King Blount.  James was preceded in death by his parents and brother, John Blount, Jr. He enjoyed fishing and hunting.  James loved his family and mostly playing with the grandkids.  He enjoyed drinking cold beer. He worked in upholstery at Bird’s Furniture Store for many years.  James was also a sewing machine mechanic at Ithaca Industries. He was an avid Alabama football fan.

James is survived by his son, James Blount, Jr. (Priscilla) of Swainsboro; daughters, Toni Bell (Rob) of Lady Lake, FL., Jamie Futch (Tim) of Swainsboro; brother, Bill Blount (Diane) of Blackshear; sister, Janice Merritt of Kite; special nephew, John (Christy) Blount of Kite; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and many friends.

Memorial Service will be Saturday, June 29, 2024, at 11:00 a.m.in the chapel of Chapman Funeral Home with Reverend Mark Hardin officiating.

The family will receive friends after the service.
