Mr. James “JD” Donald McKenzie, 87, of Wadley passed away Tuesday morning, January 26, 2016 at Vero Health & Rehab in Wadley following an extended illness.
Mr. McKenzie was born August 31, 1928 in Wadley, Ga. to the late Oscar McKenzie and Mollie Lee Moxley. He was preceded in death by his wife, Florrie Fennell McKenzie; brothers, Phillip Murray, and Dewey McKenzie; sister, Eleanor Scruggs. Mr. McKenzie was a lifelong resident of Summertown where he was a Hog Farmer. He enjoyed life, and loved watching westerns.
Survivors include his daughters, Eleanor (Don) Hayslip, Joy McCain (Steven Wilson) both of Summertown; 9 Grandchildren, 18 Great-Grandchildren, 3 Great-Great Grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and friends.
Memorial services will be at Summertown Baptist Church 2:00 p.m. Saturday afternoon, January 30, 2016 with Reverends Ray Freeman and Keith Claxton officiating.
Burial will be private and at a later date.
