Mr. James Thomas Powell, 82, of Dublin passed away Tuesday, January 18, 2022, at Fairview Park Hospital in Dublin following an extended illness.
Mr. Powell was born February 18, 1939, in Dublin to Robert Lee Powell and Gladys B. Roberson. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Robert L. Powell; step-son, Johnny Spicer. Mr. Powell loved fishing and hunting, and especially enjoyed a good fish fry. He was a great artist who loved drawing and making knives. He loved his wife, children, grandchildren, family, and his dog, Bentley. Mr. Powell was a member of Southside Baptist Church for 10 years and loved the Lord, his church, and his church family. He was saved on July 10, 2007. Mr. Powell served in the U. S. Army.
Survivors include his wife, Donna Powell of Dublin; son, Ken Powell of Orlando, FL; daughters, Nicole Kennison (Chad) of Swainsboro, Kim Wilkins of Orlando, FL; sisters, Betty Ellis of Winter Park, FL, Wilma Foskey of Dublin, Janice Donaldson of Augusta; grandchildren, Cameron Kennison (Kristina), Callie Kennison, Natalie Garren (Bobby), Hillari Martin (Gilmore), Danielle Miller (Ron); 5 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 22, 2022, at Southside Baptist Church.
Interment will follow at Northview Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday, January 22, 2022, at Southside Baptist Church.
Pallbearers will be Gabe Best, Brandon Mclean, Landon Cameron, Gene Tolbert, Myles Warnock, and Jimmy Peebles.
Honorary Pallbearers will be the men of Southside Baptist Church.
