James Tyler Tuttle

May 30, 1997 — July 6, 2025

Crestview, Florida

Sergeant James Tyler Tuttle, 28, originally from Swainsboro, GA and most recently Crestview, Fl, passed away unexpectedly on July 6, 2025. Taken far too soon, Tyler was a proud active-duty soldier serving with honor in the United States Army as a member of the Special Forces.

Known for his infectious smile, sharp wit, and compassionate heart, Tyler made a lasting impact on everyone he met. He was intelligent, driven, and passionate about everything he did—whether it was serving his country, spending time with his military brothers and sisters, or enjoying a long ride on his motorcycle. He was also a gifted songwriter and a surprisingly good cook who took pride in preparing meals for those he loved. Above all, Tyler valued time with his family. Whether it was a quiet evening at home or a big gathering, he showed up with love, laughter, and a spirit that brought people together. When Tyler hugged you -you could feel the love and no one else's could quite compare.

Tyler is survived by his mother, Susan Edenfield (Michael Nease) of Metter; his sister, Laura Woodcock (Ridge) of Perry; his brother, Gary Purvis (Julianna); and his son, Michael Patrick Graham. He is also survived by his aunts, Linda Coleman (Kenny) and Brenda Edenfield-Bell (Michael); his uncle, Bo Edenfield (Amanda); his favorite cousin Lisa "Boo Boo" Sikes; along with many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and his extended military family.

To know Tyler was to love him. He was the best son, brother, father, nephew, and friend anyone could ask for. His sudden passing has left a hole in our hearts that will never be filled. He will be deeply, deeply missed.

Visitation will be held Thursday, July 24, 2025, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Chapman Funeral Home in Swainsboro, Georgia.
