James "Big Larry" Bedgood, Sr.

Mr. James “Big Larry” Bedgood, Sr., 61, of Swainsboro passed away Wednesday, November 10, 2021, at Emanuel Medical Center in Swainsboro following an extended illness.

Mr. Bedgood was born March 19, 1960, in Swainsboro to Harvey Bedgood and Syble Durden Curl.  He is preceded in death by his father, Harvey Bedgood; son, James “Lil Larry” Bedgood; sister, Dianne Atkinson; brothers, Ronnie Bedgood, Sr. and James Bedgood.  Mr. Bedgood enjoyed playing pool, throwing darts and playing softball and football on Sundays.  He was an avid race fan and Georgia Bulldogs fan.

Survivors include his mother, Syble Curl of Swainsboro; daughters, Stacy (Allen) Smith of Meeks, Shanna (James) Stewart of Newington, Crystal (Esteban) Solis of Louisville, Casie Thurston of Millen; Brother, Michael (Jeannine) Curl of Millen; grandchildren, Brianna Clifton, Devin Clifton, Kaylie Clifton, David Smith, Hunter Smith, Riley Galbreath, Emily Stewart, Adrianna Solis, Silvia Solis, Ivana Solis, Tristian Solis, Ethan Solis, Cole Thurston, Alexis Thurston; several nieces, nephews and many friends.

Graveside Service will be held Friday, November 12, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. in Eastbrook Cemetery and Mausoleum with Reverend Joe Bedgood officiating.

The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Friday November 12, 2021, at Chapman Funeral Home.

Pallbearers are Chris Wilkerson, Roger McKenzie, Jason Atkinson, Mikey Corbin, Danny Scarboro and Jason Wilcher.
