James "Joe" Joseph Stapleton

Mr. James Joseph “Joe” Stapleton, 45, of Adrian passed away Friday, July 6, 2018 at his residence following a brief illness.

Mr. Stapleton was born June 5, 1973 in Bartow, FL. to the late Lucian Stapleton and Pamela Dukes Stapleton. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Lisa Darlene Stapleton, and Pamela Yvonne Stapleton Theobold. Mr. Stapleton was a loving brother and uncle who enjoyed joking around. Joe enjoyed his days at Ogeechee Day Center as a peer support member. When he was not busy making others smile, he retreated to the beach. He loved to take a walk with people just to listen to them talk. He was loyal, kind-hearted, and always putting others before himself. Joe’s laughter and big heart will be missed.

Survivors include his sisters, Lynn Stapleton Dunn of Macon, Deborah Stapleton of Wadley, and Theresa Stapleton Johnson of Dublin; brothers, Charles “Chip” Watson of Adrian, and Sam Stapleton of Swainsboro; several nieces, nephews, and many friends.

Graveside Services will be at Rehoboth Baptist Church Cemetery 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 12, 2018 with Reverend John Hancock III officiating.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at Chapman Funeral Home.

Pallbearers are Javier Rodriguez, Timothy Rodriguez, Jeremy Newman, Trent Kersey, Matthew Hancock, Jean-Paul Collins, Benny Steptoe, and Michael Passmore.

Honorary Pallbearers are Ogeechee Mental Health employees and clients.
