Mrs. Scott was born January 21, 1932 in Oak Park to the late Kytle Logan and Lydia Mae Turner Logan. She was one of seven children. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Winford Eugene Logan and Leonard Logan; sister, Dorcille Logan. She was a life long resident of Emanuel County. Mrs. Scott taught school for 27 years and retired from the Emanuel County Board of Education. She had a love for education and to see her students accomplish their goals. Mrs. Scott was over the High School year book, wrote and helped people write speeches and was also Teacher of the Year in 1992 and 1993. Mrs. Scott made sure her family’s needs were met by working two jobs. She was a member of Dellwood Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughters, Debbie Walker of Swainsboro and Libby Hanson of Ft. Valley; sons, Billy (Sue) Scott of Swainsboro, Randy (Paula) Scott of Midville and Marty Scott of Swainsboro; brother, Ronald Logan of Swainsboro; sisters, Judy Chapman and Glenda Richards both of Swainsboro; 16 grandchildren; 38 great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be held at the chapel of Chapman Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. Saturday afternoon, October 11, 2014 with Reverend Rusty Moore officiating and Reverend Louis Pearce assisting.
Interment will be in the Union Primitive Baptist Church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday evening, October 10, 2014 at Chapman Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Jason Scott, Shannon Scott, B. J. Scott, Luke Scott, Slay Scott and Michael Walker.
Honorary Pallbearers are retired teachers from the Emanuel County Board of Education.
