Mr. Jimmy E. Durden, 53, of Norristown passed away Sunday morning, July 19, 2015 at his residence following an extended illness.
Mr. Durden was born October 7, 1961 in Eutis Florida to the late W. D. Durden and Sara Nell Wilson Braddy. He was preceded in death by his brothers, W. L. Durden and Ricky Durden. Mr. Durden was a life long resident of Emanuel County. He was employed with Nordson Corporation as a head electrician. Mr. Durden loved to fish, collect guns and coins.
Survivors include his companion, Virginia Anderson of Norristown; daughters, Melody (Jeremy) Garner of Adrian and Miranda (Michael) Obney of Dublin; step-daughter, Amanda (Travis) Neal of Twin City; step-son, Joey Anderson of Twin City; sisters, Dorothy (Larry) Cardell of Metter and Pam Odom of Swainsboro; brother, Rodney (Lori) Durden of Norristown; grandchildren, Leland Wilson and Zayden Garner both of Adrian and Braydon Obney and Connor Obney both of Dublin; step-grandson, Josh Bush of Twin City; several nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral Services will be held at the chapel of Chapman Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 21, 2015 with Reverend Joe Bedgood officiating.
Burial will be in the Eastbrook Cemetery near Swainsboro.
The family will receive friends from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at Chapman Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are Larry Cardell, Michael Cardell, Jeremy Garner, Michael Obney, Sammy Jordan, Tim Bargeron.
