Mr. Jimmy Wilder “Jim” Rich, 75, of Swainsboro died Tuesday morning, September 17, 2013 at the Emanuel Medical Center following an extended illness.
Mr. Rich was born in Swainsboro to the late Hoke S. Rich, Sr. and Adel Hooks Rich. He was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Hilda Marsh Rich. Mr. Rich was a life long resident of Emanuel County. He was the owner and operator of Rich Grocery Store for 30 years and a bus driver for CSRA Headstart in Midville for 16 years. He attended New Beginnings Baptist Church in Swainsboro.
Survivors include his companion, Molly McNeely of Swainsboro; brothers, Hoke (Geneva) Rich, Jr. and D. D. (Mary) Rich both of Swainsboro and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at the chapel of Chapman Funeral Home at 11:00 o’clock Thursday morning, September 19, 2013 with Reverend Tim Price officiating. Interment will be in the Swainsboro City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at Chapman Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are Macon Brown, Von Hadden, John Claxton, Scott Warnock, Billy Purvis, Danny Scarboro.
