Mr. J.L. Lumpkin, 75, of Adrian passed away Thursday afternoon, September 28, 2017 at Fairview Park Hospital following an extended illness.
Mr. Lumpkin was born July 23, 1942 in Swainsboro, Ga. to the late Morris Lumpkin and Elenora Atkinson Lumpkin. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Joyce Lumpkin; sister, Betty Ann Morrison; brother, Roy Lumpkin. Mr. Lumpkin was the owner and operator of Lumpkin’s Carpentry. He loved animals, fishing, and Dirt Track Racing. Mr. Lumpkin was a member of Spring Hill Baptist Church.
Survivors include his son, James L. Lumpkin (Paula) of St. George, SC.; daughter, Patricia Beck (Ricky) of Adrian; brothers, Eddie Lumpkin (Margie), Jimmy Lumpkin (Patricia), Johnny Lumpkin, and Fred Lumpkin all of Adrian; grandchildren, James Keith Lumpkin, Allan Beck, Savannah Beck, and Steven Lumpkin; special grandchild, Anthony Lumpkin; dog, Buddy; several nieces, nephews, and friends.
Funeral Services will be held in the chapel of Chapman Funeral Home 1:30 p.m. Sunday, October 1, 2017 with Reverends Ricky Downs, and Jack Stafford officiating.
Interment will follow in the Mt. Zion Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, September 30, 2017 at Chapman Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are Gary Smith, Stephen Smith, Jerry Hall, Greg Evans, Jeffery Downs, and John Atkinson.
