Jo Ann Pollett

October 20, 1943 — May 4, 2021

Mrs. Jo Ann Pollett, 77, of Norristown passed away Tuesday, May 4, 2021 at her residence following an extended illness.

Mrs. Pollett was born October 20, 1943 in Swainsboro to the late Hubert Warren Durden and Ruby Mae Hall Durden. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Carlos Pollett; daughter, Tracy Morris Short. Mrs.. Pollett was a lifelong resident of Norristown.  She worked for the Georgia Department of Corrections where she retired at the age of 60.  Mrs. Pollett attended Ebenezer Methodist Church in Kemp and was a Christian woman.  She enjoyed spending time with her family and spoiling her grandchildren.  Mrs. Pollett raised her two granddaughters, Jessica and Harli after their mother, Tracy, passed away in 1999.  You could normally find her drinking Coca-Cola on the couch watching her favorite TV show Law & Order.  She was the backbone of her family and was the glue that kept them all together.  There will forever be a hole in their hearts that only she could fill.  She will be greatly missed by not only her family but friends that she’s made throughout her life.

Survivors include her sons, Raymond Morris (Susan) and Ashley Pollett (Gayla) both of Norristown; daughters, Carla Pollett of Norristown; brother, Hugh Durden (Kathy) of Macon; sister, Deborah Johns of Metter; grandchildren, Brandon Morris, Jessica Johnson, Derek Sharpton, Harli Cheyenne Moore, Jada Pollett; great-grandchildren, Zaylee Morris, Marlee Johnson, Abigail Moore, Brinslee Johnson, Aubrey Sharpton, Anniston Sharpton, Maddox Morris; several nieces, nephews, and many friends.

Funeral Services will be 2 p.m. Friday, May 7, 2021 in the chapel of Chapman Funeral Home with Reverend Joe Bedgood officiating.
