Joanna Douglas Harrison

Mrs. Joanna Douglas Harrison, 51, of Kite passed away Monday, September 7, 2020 at Memorial Hospital in Savannah following an extended illness.

Mrs. Harrison was born November 7, 1968 in Dublin to the late Thetus “Buddy” Douglas and JoAnn Wilson Douglas. She was preceded in death by her parents. Mrs. Harrison graduated from David Emanuel Academy in 1986 and earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Georgia in 1990. She was employed by CSB of Middle Georgia for 30 years. Mrs. Harrison attended Kite First Baptist. She was a Georgia Football fan who collected UGA memorabilia and loved to see her Dawgs play. Mrs. Harrison was an avid animal lover and always wanted one more puppy to love. So much like her dad, she enjoyed having family and friends gather at the Douglas clubhouse for some good food with lots of conversation and laughter. Mrs. Harrison loved the farm life and so enjoyed watching her cows and calves grow and, of course, she had to name each and every one.

Survivors include her husband of 27 years, William Harrison of Kite; sister, Leahdonna Douglas of Milledgeville; aunt, Leahdora Powell of Meeks; beloved pups, Riley and Roxie; several cousins and close friends.

Funeral Services will be Friday, September 11, 2020 11 a.m. at Kite First Baptist Church with Reverend Burton Dixon and Minister Brent Allen. Mrs. Harrison will lie in state one hour prior to service.

Interment will follow at Sardis Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Darrell Wilson, Trojan Harrison, Danny Fortner, Todd Fortner, Mitchell Moore, and Mike Harrison.

Honorary Pallbearers are employees of CSB of Middle Georgia.

The family will receive friends Thursday, September 10, 2020 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Chapman Funeral Home.

In compliance with the guidelines set by the CDC, 6 feet rule will be enforced during visitation and service.
