John Randall Aycock, of Twin City, Georgia, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2025, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Savannah, Georgia, after a long illness. He was 79 years old. Born on May 16, 1945, in Candler County, GA, Randy was the son of the late J.R. Olliff and Frances Croft.
He is survived by his children, son Wes Aycock and daughter Karen Evans (Al); his sisters, Ramona J. Hall and Patricia Olliff; his brother, Greg Olliff; and his two grandchildren, Macie Gay and Allyssa Aycock.
Randy served honorably in the United States Air Force, specializing in air and refrigeration work while stationed in Libya. After his service, he worked for over 15 plus years at Johnson Controls at Fort Gordon. He lived several years in Edgefield, SC and later moved to Twin City, GA to be closer to his mother. A man who took pride in his work, John was known for his strong work ethic and his ability to fix just about anything — earning him the affectionate nickname of "MacGyver." In his down time, Randy enjoyed watching a good movie and sipping a hot cup of coffee and spending time with his Uncle Robert talking about life. He was known for his witty personality and love of history and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
- His Journey’s Just Begun -
Don’t think of him as gone away his journey’s just begun, life holds so many facets this earth is only one. Just think of him as resting from the sorrows and the tears in a place of warmth and comfort where there are no days and years. Think how he must be wishing that we could know today how nothing but our sadness can really pass away. And think of him as living in the hearts of those he touched... for nothing loved is ever lost and he was loved so much.-Anonymous
