John Bryant Blount, Jr.

Mr. John Bryant Blount, Jr., 70, of Swainsboro passed away Sunday, December 22, 2019 at his residence following an extended illness.

Mr. Blount was born March 8, 1949 in Waycross to the late John Bryant Blount, Sr. and Yvonne King Blount.  He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, LaVerne Harrell Blount; grandson, T. J. Williams. Mr. Blount was a professional painter. He loved to go fishing, watch westerns and spend time with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his son, John (Christy) Blount, III of Kite; daughters, Mikayla Blount, Tara Blount, Titia Blount, all of Kite; brothers, James Blount of Kite, Bill Blount of Waycross; sister, Janice Blount of Clarkesville; grandchildren, Gracie Blount, Jessica Blount, Dakota Blount, Jamie Colter, Jr., Terrell Colter, Tiara Spikes, K’Lee Blount; great-grandchildren, Karmen Blount, Jaxton Colter, Tomas Blount, Joanie Blount, Aleayah Colter, Easton Colter, Arianna Colter, Brayden Muroz, Major Spikes, Luna Velazquez, Levi Williams; several nieces, nephews and many friends.

Memorial Service will be 5 p.m. Saturday, December 28, 2019 in the chapel of Chapman Funeral Home with Mr. Cameron Kennison officiating.

The family will receive friends Saturday, December 28, 2019 from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Chapman Funeral Home.
