Mr. John Louis Ridgdill, 82, of Vidalia died Monday, November 29, 2010.
Mr. Ridgdill was a native of Emanuel County and was preceded in death by his parents, Linton Lionel and Lois Inez Bishop Ridgdill; brothers, Irwin Linton Ridgdill and Junius Benjamin Ridgdill; sisters, Ruth Ridgdill Murray and Dorothy Ridgdill McKenzie; grandson, George William Lindsey. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War and was a member of Voice of Grace Ministries, Vidalia, Georgia.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Nancy Ridgdill, Twin City; a daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and Don Lindsey, Pelham; granddaughters, Michelle Lindsey Shoe, Pelham, Stephanie Ridgdill (Tim) Matthews, Twin City, and Kristina Lindsey, Pelham; grandson, John Michael Ridgdill, Jr., Twin City; great-grandsons, James Clayton Akins, Twin City, and William Timothy Shoe, Pelham; great-granddaughters, Anna Morgan Lane and Ava Elizabeth Matthews, both of Twin City; sisters, Idelle Ridgdill Perkins, Dublin, Oris Ridgdill Lewis, Swainsboro, Marion Ridgdill Haynie, Millen, and Frances Ridgdill Evans, North Augusta; several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held in the Chapel of Chapman Funeral Home at 11 o’clock Wednesday morning, December 1, with Pastor Charles Carter and Elder Tommy Rountree officiating. Burial will be in Old Canoochee Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, November 30 at Chapman Funeral Home.
