John W. Shattler, Jr.

Mr. John W. Shattler, Jr., 80, of Kite passed away Saturday, July 16, 2022, at Pruitt Health Swainsboro following an extended illness.

Mr. Shattler was born January 10, 1942, in Tampa, FL to John W. Shattler, Sr. and Agnes Gandy Shattler. He was preceded in death by his parents. Mr. Shattler was a retired Florida State Patrol Investigator. He was a member of Rehoboth Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Pearl D. Shattler of Kite; sons, John W. Shattler, III (Paula) of Kite, David Lee Shattler of Douglas; daughter, Susan Marie Whitley (Tim) of Douglas; grandchildren, Katie Shattler, Grant Shattler, Danielle Whitley; great-grandson, James Ramsey; brother, Donald Shattler (Etta) of Bartow, FL; sisters, Ida Mae Burleson of Oviedo, FL, Melody Warren, Gay Bass, and Crystal Matthews, all of Panama City, FL; several nieces, nephews, and many friends.

Funeral Services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 20, 2022, at Rehoboth Baptist Church with Reverend Arthur Conley officiating.

Interment will follow in Rehoboth Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 19, 2022, at Chapman Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Heath Palmer, David Josey, Joey Drew, Allen Drew, James Drew, and Brian Drew.
