John David Mcneely

Mr. John David McNeely, 77, of Adrian, passed away Friday, May 2, 2025, at Community Hospice in Vidalia.

Mr. McNeely was born July 24, 1947, in Swainsboro to David Crawford McNeely and Lula Mae Price McNeely.  He was preceded in death by his parents; brother-in-law, George Lumpkin.  John David McNeely was a quiet man of many hobbies. He was a longtime, skilled mechanic for John Deere. When not at work on a farm or at Blanchard, David spent time wetting a hook, planting a row, and woodworking. Most of all, what David enjoyed was spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Ann Y. McNeely of Adrian; daughters, Missy McGowan (Danny) of Metter, Joy Hayslip (Michael) of Adrian; sister, Lane Lumpkin of Bonaire; grandchildren, Courtney Patterson (Ben), Noah McGowan (Haley), Danielle McGowan, Trai Hayslip, Maggie Hayslip; great-grandchildren, Dex McGowan, Dane McGowan; several nieces, nephews and many friends.

Graveside Service will be held 11:00 a.m., Monday, May 5, 2025, at Sardis Cemetery with Elder Sam Adkins officiating and assisted by Dr. Rick Johnson

The family will receive friends Sunday, May 4, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Chapman Funeral Home.
