Mrs. Johnnie C. Henry, 80, of Kite passed away Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at her residence following an extended illness.
Mrs. Henry was born November 15, 1935 in Johnson County to the late Lorenzo Jackson and Mary Ellen Steptoe Jackson. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Randolph Henry; son, Leon Henry; brother, Lonnie Jackson; and sisters, Myrtle Wooster and Lucille Herrington. Mrs. Henry was a member of Liberty Grove Baptist Church of Wrightsville.
Survivors include her sons, Lonnie (Kathy) Henry and Charles (Brenda) Henry both of Kite; daughters, Sherri (Tony) Mason of Swainsboro and Sandra (Glenn) Scarboro of Wrightsville; grandchildren, April Henry, Randy Henry, Amanda Henry, Lonnie (Elizabeth) Henry Jr., Charles Henry Jr., Wendi Scarboro, Ski (Elderick Graddy) Scarboro, Clarence (Desha) Jones, Jessica (Lauren) Jones, and Halei (Chris) Lamb; 22 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be held in the chapel of Chapman Funeral Home 11:00 AM Friday morning, June 24, 2016 with Reverends Sammy Hall and Phil Wilson officiating. Interment will follow in the Swainsboro City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday evening, June 23, 2016 at Chapman Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are Lonnie Henry Jr., Elderick Graddy, Jason Barber, Hugh Foskey, Christian Henry, and Buck Brantley.
Honorary Pallbearers are Jeff Grimes, C.J. Jones, Steve Akridge, Blaine Burrell, and employees of Pruitt Health Hospice.
