Joseph Duaine Mimbs

Mr. Joseph Duaine Mimbs, 78, of Adrian, passed away Monday, April 7, 2025, at his residence following an extended illness.  He was born August 7, 1946, in Meeks, to Rastus Mimbs and Myrtice Riner Mimbs. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Carolyn Beckworth Mimbs; brother, Robert Mimbs.

Mr. Mimbs was a retired sewing machine mechanic. One of his favorite things to do was looking for arrow heads on the Little Ohoopee Riverbanks. Mr. Mimbs was an avid Georgia Bulldog fan. He couldn’t wait to turn on his television and watch them on a Saturday afternoon. Another favorite pastime was fishing. He was known for his fishing skills. Once catched, he usually gave them to his friends and family, and he took the time before he gave them away, to make sure they were prepared to go into the fryer. He is survived by his son, Joe Mimbs of Meeks; daughters, Angie Walker (Dale), Vicie Hutcheson, both of Meeks, Karen Atkins (Daniel) of Augusta; sister, Kay Mimbs Webb of Meeks: 11 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and many friends.

A Celebration of Life service will be held Sunday, April 13, 2025, from 2:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. at 131 Mimbs Coleman Road in Adrian, Georgia.
