Mrs. Josephine P. Lee, 75, of Swainsboro died Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at the Emanuel Medical Center following an extended illness.
Mrs. Lee was born in Bladenboro, North Carolina to the late Hez Parnell and Vada Davis Parnell. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Lee. Mrs. Lee moved to Savannah at the age of 17 where she met her husband and started a family. Mrs. Lee and her family moved to Twin City in 1960. She was employed with Creston Industries until she went to work with the Emanuel County Board of Education. Mrs. Lee loved gardening and was a member of Butlers Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughter, Stephanie (Ronnie) Dollar of Cochran; sons, Dwain (Diane) Lee and Cliff Lee both of Twin City; sister, Janice Johnson of Bladenboro NC; brother, Carsey (Carol) Davis of Bladenboro, NC; grandchildren, Cade Lee and Bryan Lee both of Twin City, Johnna Johnson of Twin City, Jaylin Dollar and Will Dollar both of Cochran; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at the Chapel of Chapman Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 23, 2014 with Rev. Fred Dunn officiating and assisted by Rev. Franklin Sasser. Interment will be in the Old Canoochee Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery near Swainsboro.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday evening, January 22, 2014 at Chapman Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are Sammy Newsome, Travis Wilson, John Davis, Michael Davis, Dale Johnson and Jimmy Sellestock.
