Mrs. Joyce Scott, 70, of Twin City passed away Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at her residence. She was born on July 16, 1955, to Robert Lee Brown and Pauline Brown Bowen. Martha was preceded in death by her mother, Pauline and Jesse Bowen; father, Robert Lee Brown; daughter, Jennifer Fennell; sister, Fayette Kirchner.
Joyce was a devoted Christian woman and a faithful member of Friendship Baptist Church. Her faith was an important part of her life and guided the way she treated others. A lifelong resident of Emanuel County, she was known as an honest and hardworking woman with an amazing work ethic. She worked tirelessly to help make the mobile home business as successful as possible and took great pride in her work.
She was a loving and dedicated wife who cared deeply for her husband. She waited on him hand and foot, always bringing his meals to his chair and serving him with love. Taking care of him brought her joy.
Joyce experienced great heartbreak in the loss of her daughter, Jinny, who passed away at 17 years old in a car accident. Even through that sorrow, she remained strong in her faith. She loved flowers and enjoyed working in her flower beds. She also enjoyed fishing and spending time with family and friends. Joyce will be remembered for her strong faith, her hardworking spirit, and the love she showed to her family every day.
Survivors include her husband of 31 years, Gerald Scott of Twin City; stepson, Randy Scott (Vera) of Kite; stepdaughters, Keila Perkins (Nick) of Swainsboro, Nikkia Mathis (Russell) of Statesboro; brother, Wayne Brown of Twin City; beloved niece, Tammy Wilkerson (Willard) of Swainsboro; 6 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and many friends.
Funeral Services will be 3:00 p.m. Sunday, March 1, 2026, in the chapel of Chapman Funeral Home with Reverend Jim Harrell officiating.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Interment will be in Union Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
