Mrs. Julia Gaston, 93, passed away on June 30, 2026, at the Emanuel County Medical Center, in the presence
of her loving family. She was born on May 21, 1933, in Wadley to the late Frank Harold Moxley and Dorothy Eloise King Moxley.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Wayne “Sonny” Gaston, her parents, and brothers, Frank Moxley and George Peck Moxley.
Mrs. Julia was Valedictorian of her class in 1949 at Wadley High School. She worked for Fulgham Industry as purchasing agent for 53 years. Mrs. Julia was a faithful member of the Wadley First Methodist Church and served in all aspects ranging from choir member, Sunday school teacher, to board member. She especially loved working with the children services and Bible school. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to all who were fortunate enough to know her.
She is survived by her sons, Bobby Wayne Gaston, Jr. (Robin) of Evans, George Harold Gaston (Debbie) of Wrightsville; grandchildren, Al Gaston (Barbara), Josh Gaston, Sam Gaston, and Elizabeth Wallstedt (Kyle); great-grandchildren, Skylar Davis, Emmi Gaston, James Gaston, Ethan Gaston, Keely Gaston, River Gaston, and Walker Wayne Wallstedt.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 6th, 2026, at Wadley Methodist Church with Rev. Chris Shoemaker officiating, assisted by Rev. Chad Watkins. The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until service time.
Interment will follow in Wadley City Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Sam Gaston, Kyle Wallstedt, Al Gaston, Josh Gaston, James Gaston, Ethan Gaston, Greg Gaston, and Mark Moxley.
Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Purvis, Davey Lamb, Tommy Sheppard, members of the Wadley Methodist Church Night Circle, and Choir.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be sent to the Wadley Methodist Church, P. O. Box 99, Wadley, GA 30477.
