June Wynette Newsome

Mrs. June Wynette Newsome, 83, passed away on August 26, 2026, at the Emanuel County Nursing Home. Mrs. June was born June 9, 1943, in Swainsboro to the late Ray and Etta Mae Jackson Peebles.

She is preceded in death by her husband, N.H. Newsome, Jr., her parents, and a sister, Harriet Peebles.

Survivors include her daughter, Kathy Peebles (Danny) of Kite, her sons, Alan Newsome (Chasity) and Richard Newsome (Donna), both of Swainsboro, seven grandchildren; Matt Peebles, Catlin Ely (Adam) Whitley Newsome, Christian Newsome (Destiny), Gannon Wiley (Catherine) Malia Bennett (Cody) and Analise Newsome, twelve great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson, and a sister, Sharon Scott (Harmon) of Swainsboro.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2026 at 11am in the Chapel of Chapman Funeral Home with Rev. Burton Dixon officiating. The family will receive friends for an hour prior to the service from 10am until 11am.

Interment will follow at Old Bethel Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Christian Newsome, Matt Peebles, Gannon Wiley, Bryer Price, Hollis Buxton, and Cody Bennett.
