Ms. June Anne Williams, 80, of Swainsboro passed away Saturday night, March, 11, 2017, with family at her side, following an extended illness.
Ms. Williams was born February 22, 1937, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to the late David and Marie Rankine. She was preceded in death by her late husband, Edward Hayes and former husband Howard Williams. Ms. Williams was a resident of Miami from a young age until she moved to Swainsboro with her former husband Howard Williams, in 1980.
She worked many years as a Registered Nurse and later obtained her Masters of Science in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner. She was a faithful employee of Emanuel Medical Center for nearly 30 years while also providing exceptional patient care at Ray Clinic for approximately 20 years. Serving others was a mission of hers; and while caring for those in her community was seen as a privilege, she also found great joy to participate in many Christian Mission trips to provide the less fortunate with much needed medical care. Another great passion of June’s was traveling. She travelled the world as much as possible and took family as well as friends when they would attend.
June was a free, spontaneous, yet humble spirit. She regarded her family as top priority and helping anyone in need next. Most anyone she talked to for more than about 5 minutes could quickly sense her strong beliefs concerning education, safety, and health in general. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Swainsboro.
Survivors include her daughters, Rebecca Hayes Daniels of Swainsboro, Kitty Noteware of Sparta, and Peggy (John) Futrill of Columbia SC; son, T. J. (Melanie) Winegard of Swainsboro; brothers, David Rankine Jr. of Pensacola FL and Robert (Debbie) Rankine of Swainsboro; grandchildren, Michael (Abby) Edenfield, Jerry (Tanisha) Edenfield, and Rachael Daniels all of Swainsboro, Jada (Kelop) Harrison and Tessa Noteware all of Sparta, Danielle Way of Swainsboro, Hannah Way of Columbia SC, Taylor Winegard of Swainsboro, Matthew Winegard and Thomas Winegard of Florida; great grandson, Asher Edenfield of Swainsboro; 3 nephews, 2 nieces, 2 great nephews, 2 great nieces, and friends.
