Justin LaCarr Holloway

September 26, 1997 — May 26, 2025

Killeen, TX

Sgt. Justin LaCarr Holloway, age 27, transitioned peacefully from this life on Monday, May 26, 2025. Born on September 26, 1997, to Laverne Holloway and Roy L. Brown, Jr.

Justin was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Henrietta Holloway Gamble and Cesar B. Thomas; paternal grandparents, Roy L. Brown, Sr. and Rebecca Brown; uncle, Gregory Waters; two aunts, Emma Jean Holloway Martin, and Eleanor Monts.

Justin was a 2015 graduate of Emanuel County Institute where he played basketball and track. He was a great athlete at ECI. During his junior year he was awarded the Bulldog Award and in his senior year he received awards in basketball (defensive player of the year), track and field (athlete of the year), and placed 5th overall for high jump in State competition.

After graduation he pursued a career in the U.S. Army and specialized in Information Technology. Justin worked hard and diligently while serving in the U.S. Army and was awarded the ranking of Sergeant. Later, he returned back to civilian life and worked as an IT Specialist.

Above all else Justin loved his family greatly. He had a strong bond and love for his daughter who was the joy and light of his life.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving mother, Laverne Holloway of Griffin, GA; his father, Roy L. Brown, Jr. of West Palm Beach, FL; daughter, Korryn Justine Magee-Holloway of Killeen, TX; brothers, Joshua Ross (Latasha) of Cincinnati, OH, and Rasheed Holloway of Killeen, TX; niece, Nahlia Ross of Augusta, GA; two godmothers, Carolyn Terry and Valerie Bethel of Ft. Lauderdale, FL.

Justin was encouraged and uplifted by four uncles that were father figures— the late Gregory Waters, Ronnie Hughes, Herbert Waters, and Calvin Jenkins, Sr., who poured into him God's love, wisdom, and integrity. There were other family members and friends who were a part of helping Justin to mature in becoming the young man he was. These people were his cousins, Derek & Eric Hughes, Ashton Waters; and best friends, Tavia Clark, Quarlecia Miller, and Jazmine Jackson. Through these relationships a bond of love, loyalty and lifetime experiences were shared.

Justin was very kind-hearted and will be greatly missed. Until we meet again son, brother, daddy, nephew, cousin, and friend, rest in the bosom of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

His homegoing celebration will be held on Saturday, June 7, 2025 at 1:00pm at Chapman Funeral Home.

Interment will follow at the Eastbrook Cemetery.
