Katherine Kight Mckenzie

Mrs. Katherine “Kathy” Kight McKenzie 69, of Garfield passed away Friday, June 11, 2021 at home following an extended illness.

Mrs. McKenzie was born March 3, 1952 in Kite, Ga to the late JB Kight and Loree Hopkins.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bobby McKenzie; sister, Katie Hooks; brother, Ronnie Kight; and grandson, Brandon McKenzie.  Mrs. McKenzie enjoyed reading, cleaning, taking care of babies, and yard selling.

Survivors include her son, Christopher Michael of Milledgeville; daughter, Jeannie (Chris) Morton of Garfield; sister, Faye (Carl) Bishop of Oak Park; brother-in-law, Larry Hooks of Garfield; grandchildren, Beth (Dave) Welden, Matthew (Madi) Way, Jesse McKenzie, Houston McKenzie, Lani, Abby, Xander and Jonah Morton; 5 great grandchildren; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Funeral Services will be 4:00 p.m. Sunday, June 13, 2021, in the Chapel of Chapman Funeral Home with Reverend Bert Flanders officiating.

Interment will follow at New Hope Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, June 13, 2021, at Chapman Funeral Home.

Pallbearers are Jared McNorrill, Levi Oglesby, Zach Hooks, Mickey Frederick, Xander Morton, and Garrett Garrard.
