Kathleen Youmans Oglesby

Mrs. Kathleen Youmans Oglesby, 80, of Swainsboro passed away Sunday, October 7, 2018 at Pruitt Health Swainsboro following an extended illness.

Mrs. Oglesby was born November 7, 1937 in Stillmore, Ga. to the late James Roberson and Vondell Collins Roberson. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Ira D. “Pud” Youmans, Sr. and Allen Oglesby; son, Ricky Youmans. Mrs. Oglesby was a homemaker and was a lifelong residence of Emanuel County. She enjoyed going to the Senior Center, working with flowers, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mrs. Oglesby attended United Primitive Baptist Church.

Survivors include her sons, Donnie Youmans (Linda) of Evans and Ronnie Youmans (Gilda) of Soperton; brother, Larry Roberson of Lizella; sisters, Mary Lynn Oglesby of Milledgeville, Nell Jeffers of Gray, and Janice Brooks (Wayne) of Milledgeville; grandchildren, Amanda Grant (Bear), Matthew Youmans, Necole Salter (Les), Jessi Mason (Gregory), Haden Youmans, and Ashley Tracy (Matt); great-grandchildren, Peyton Grant, Cooper Grant, Avery Grant, Harper Grant, Isla Salter, Eason Salter, and Mia Mason; several nieces, nephews, and many friends.

Funeral Services will be in the Chapel of Chapman Funeral Home 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 9, 2018 with Brother Wayne Brooks officiating.

Interment will follow in the Swainsboro City Cemetery.

The family will receive friends 1-hour prior service at Chapman Funeral Home.

Pallbearers are Matthew Youmans, Haden Youmans, Bear Grant, Les Salter, Gregory Mason, and Johnny Lavender.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
