Kay L Stroud

Ms. Kay L. Stroud, 71, of Swainsboro passed away Monday, June 3, 2019 following a brief illness.

Ms. Stroud was born January 28, 1948 in Millen, Ga. to the late Harold Landing and Ena Mae Grimes Landing. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Arthur Stroud. Ms. Stroud graduated from Swainsboro High School in 1966 and from Swainsboro Technical School in 1992 with an LPN Degree. She retired from International Paper in Augusta 2011. Ms. Stroud loved cruising in the Caribbean, spending time with her grandsons, reading and sunning by the pool. She volunteered at The Donna Center for homeless families in Atlanta. Throughout Kay’s life she touched many lives, always willing to help other people. Kay’s favorite time of year was Christmas.

Survivors include her sons, Lamar Youmans (Teresa) of Waynesboro and Brian Youmans of Swainsboro; daughter, Kim Dart of Woodstock, GA.; brother, Bobby Landing of Millen; sister, Mary Faye Jones (T.L.) of Swainsboro; grandchildren, Jack Dart, Landing Youmans, Adam Giles, and Candice Shannon; 1 niece, 3 nephews, cousins, other family members and friends.

Funeral Services will be Thursday, June 6, 2019 at 4 p.m. in the Chapel of Chapman Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Price officiating.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, June 5, 2019 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Chapman Funeral Home.
