Kenneth T Coleman

Mr. Kenneth T. Coleman, 77, of Swainsboro passed away Tuesday, July 16, 2019 at Memorial Health following a brief illness.

Mr. Coleman was born June 17, 1942 in Oak Park, Ga. to the late William Thomas Coleman and Susie Loretta Lumley Coleman.  He was preceded in death by his parents; son, William Coleman. Kenneth could be found daily tinkering in his shop working on motors and cars. He loved hot rods and old cars along with going to the races. When he wasn't doing that he would be found working in the garden and flower beds.  He enjoyed spending time with his family and talking to those on the phone that he could not see as often. Kenneth was always a busy man running his past businesses in Eatonton prior to his retirement.   He had his own shop where he repaired vehicles and built old cars that everyone enjoyed talking about. Previously building docks & decks around the lake as well. Kenneth is a native of twin city, living in Eatonton the majority of his last few years until returning to Swainsboro.

Survivors include his wife, Versie Coleman of Swainsboro; daughters, Angel Morris (Bobby) of Swainsboro, Kay Pruitt (Robert) of Sevierville, TN., and Kathy Dorsey (Fred) of Midville; brother, David Coleman (Wanda) of Adrian; sisters, Helen Womack of Twin City, Ellen Allen (Ray) , Betty Jean Coleman both of Swainsboro, and Martha Reese (Grover) of Moultrie; 7 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and friends.

Funeral Services will be Thursday, July 18, 2019 2p.m. in the Chapel of Chapman Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Dowless officiating.

Interment will follow in the Hebron Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, July 17, 2019 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Chapman Funeral Home.

Pallbearers are Mark Allen, Ridge Allen, Billy Cavannah, Michael Clewis, Alec Clewis, and Dennis Durden.
