Mr. Larry Lynwood “Ram” Newsome, 73, of Swainsboro passed away Sunday morning, September 20, 2015 at the Emanuel Medical Center following an extended illness.
Mr. Newsome was born April 20, 1942 in Swainsboro to the late Foster Newsome and Eloise Marsh Newsome. He was preceded in death by his brother, R. W. Newsome. Mr. Newsome was a lifelong resident of Emanuel County. He liked to work in his yard and was an avid Nascar Fan.
Survivors include her wife, Alma Barwick Newsome of Swainsboro; sons, Larry (Fredia) Jones, Terry (Janet) Youngblood, J.C. (Estine) Youngblood all of Baxley; daughters, Lynn (Fred) Youngblood of Spartanburg, SC, Lynelle Jones of St. Marys and Melinda Futch of Swainsboro; sister, Ann (Al) Vazquez of Swainsboro; aunt, Eudell Clark of Swainsboro; 10 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and friends.
Services will be held at the chapel of Chapman Funeral Home at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 23, 2015 with Reverends Jamie Archer and Ray Jenkins officiating.
Interment will be in the Blundale Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at Chapman Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are Ronnie Newsome, Joey Newsome, James Claxton, Tim Garrett, Chris Newsome, and Shane Smith.
Honorary Pallbearers will be David Burke, Billy Joe Barwick, Sonny Hudson, Michael Wells, and Larry Scott
