Mrs. LaVerne H. Blount, 67, of Kite, died December 24, 2014 at her residence surrounded by her family from an extended illness.
Mrs. Blount was born January 10, 1947 in Kite, to the late Rufus Harrell Sr. and Ethel Martin Harrell. She was preceded in death by her sister, Emily Harrell; brother, Charles Harrell. Mrs. Blount loved being with her grandchildren, going to the mountains, sewing, and cross stitching.
Survivors include her sons, John (Christy) Blount III and Mike Blount both of Kite; brother, Rufus (Peggy) Harrell Jr. of Kathleen; sister, Hineslyn Harrell of Canoochee; grandchildren, Jessica Blount, Dakota Blount, Jamie Colter, Jr., Terrell Colter, Tiara Blount, T. J. Williams, K’Lee Blount; great grandchildren, Karmen Blount, Gracie Ward, Jaxton Colter, Tomas Blount; several nieces, nephews and friends.
Memorial service will be held at the chapel of Chapman Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 27, 2014 with Rev. Burt Dixon officiating.
Family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until time of service.
Burial will be private.
