Mrs. Linda W. Ogletree, 66, of Swainsboro passed away Thursday, August 29, 2013 at the Bethany Nursing Center in Vidalia following an extended illness.
Mrs. Ogletree was born in Swainsboro and a life long residence of Emanuel County. She was preceded in death by her parents, Isma Williams and Eudelle Abney Williams. Mrs. Ogletree loved cross stitching, was an avid reader, a great cook and loved spending time with her grandchildren. She retired from East Georgia State College as a secretary for 13 years in the Math and Science Division. Mrs. Ogletree taught the Senior Adult Ladies Sunday School Class for 23 years. She was a member of Hawhammock Baptist Church for 15 years.
Survivors include her husband (the love of her life of 47 years), Gene Ogletree of Swainsboro; son, Dale (Tonya) Ogletree of Kite; brother, Johnny (Joyce) Williams of Swainsboro; sister, Barbara (Watson) Mosley of Swainsboro; granddaughters, Paige and Gracie Ogletree both of Kite; several nieces, nephews and friends.
Memorial service will be held at Hawhammock Baptist Church at 2 o’clock Saturday, August 31, 2013 with Reverends Cail Pressey and Ray Freeman officiating.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday August 31, 2013 at the church.
