Mr. Luther Aaron Bell, 88, passed away Thursday, December 18, 2025 at Hospice of Savannah.
He was born in Burke County to the late Malcolm Medlock and Esther Moore Bell. Luther worked at Chatham Steel for 42 years until his retirement. He loved rooting for the Kansas City Chiefs, quail hunting, fishing, and refinishing furniture. He had many pets throughout his life whom he loved immensely, but Maggie was his favorite companion. He was a member of the Methodist Church of Twin City, and a former member of the Baptist Church in Twin City.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Allene Burke Bell, his parents, a brother, Winfred Bell, and a sister, Bonnilynn Mixon, and a granddaughter, Faith Bell.
He is survived by children, John (Terri) Bell, of Twin City, Randall (Jennie) Bell, and Laurie Bell Graham, all of Savannah, grandchildren, Georgia (Ben) Pearman, Michael O’Connor, Jr., Emily O’Connor, Jack O’Connor, Brandon (Amanda) Bell, Justin (Tori) Bell, Courtney (Jamey) Watson, his great-grandchildren, Lilly Bell, Ada Bell, Waylon Bell, Indee Bell, and a sister, Fayette Chance of Twin City.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, December 21, 2025 at Chapman Funeral Home at 2:00pm with Rev. Franklin Sasser officiating. Mr. Bell will lie in state for an hour prior to the service.
Interment will follow at Antioch Primitive Baptist Church. Pallbearers will be Mr. Bell’s grandsons.
