Mrs. Mamie Daniel Moore Terwilliger, 87, of Swainsboro died Saturday morning, October 26, 2013 at the Emanuel Medical Center in Swainsboro.
Mrs. Terwilliger was born in Covena, Georgia to the late John Elijah Moore and Eileen Cook Moore. She was preceded in death by husband, Courtney Terwilliger, Sr.
Mrs. Terwilliger was a life long resident of Emanuel County and owner of Terwilliger’s Auto Service for 44 years. Mrs. Terwilliger was a member of Nunez Baptist Church for 55 years where she served in various capacities. She was a member of the (WMU) Women’s Missionary Union and was also a member of the Governor David Emanuel-Adam Brinson Chapter NSDAR. Her family was always her priority and there was nothing she enjoyed more than spending time with her boys, her grandchildren and her great grandchildren.
Survivors include her sons, John Terwilliger, Courtney and Toni Terwilliger, and Henry and Paulette Terwilliger all of Swainsboro; grandchildren, Carla Terralane Terwilliger (Ian McCarthy) of California, Agatha Eileen (Wesley) McRae of Swainsboro, Elijah Paul Terwilliger (Allie) of Swainsboro, Henry Cook (Christy) Terwilliger, Jr. of Swainsboro, Ivy Danielle Terwilliger of Statesboro, and Courtney Lane Terwilliger III of Swainsboro; 9 great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and friends.
Services will be held at the Nunez Baptist church at 2:00 o’clock Monday afternoon, October 28, 2013 with Reverends Mark Sweat and Lee Gaston officiating. Burial will be in the Moore Cemetery near Swainsboro with Rev. Scott Brenton officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, October 27, 2013 at Chapman Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Lige Moore, H. G. Yeomans, Bill Simmons, Bill Cook, Bob Cook, Terry Gay, Sam Daniels and Jerry Bedgood.
Honorary Pallbearers are the former and present employees of Terwilliger’s Auto Service.
