Mrs. Marcelle Smith Brannon, 79, of Swainsboro went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, August 20, 2015 at her residence following an extended illness.
Mrs. Brannon was born in Cleveland GA on September 23, 1935 to the late Willie David Smith and Pearl Sosebee Smith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Duncan Brannon; sisters, Lois Campbell and Nell Slade. Mrs. Brannon moved to Swainsboro with her husband Jack in the early 90’s. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Swainsboro. Mrs. Brannon had a servant spirit always wanting to help others and enjoyed baking for others.
Survivors include her nephews, David (Jamie) Banks of Thomaston, Evan (Makra) Brannon of St Petersburg FL, Dale Brannon of Boston, MA, and Nolan Brannon of Tampa, FL; great-nephews, Kirby (Jessica) Banks of Thomaston and Brandon (Jessica) Banks of Woodstock; brother-in-law, Don (Polly) Brannon of St. Petersburg, FL; and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be held at the First Baptist Church of Swainsboro at 3:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon, August 23, 2015 with Reverend Paul Leigh officiating.
Interment will be in the Swainsboro City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday afternoon, August 23, 2015 at the church.
Pallbearers will be Evan Brannon, Dale Brannon, Nolan Brannon, Kirby Banks, Brandon Banks and Bill Simmons.
Honorary Pallbearers are the Sipper Youngblood WMU and the Trail Blazers Sunday School Class.
Should friends desire, in lieu of flowers memorial may be made in memorial of Mrs. Marcelle Smith Brannon to the American Cancer Society, Friends of the Library, Childrens Choir Ministry at First Baptist Church, or charity of your choice.
