Mrs. Margaret Sherrod Brown, 76, of Twin City died Saturday morning, October 27, 2012 at her residence following an extended illness.
Mrs. Brown was born in Twin City and a life long residence of Emanuel County. She was preceded in death by her parents Oliver Sherrod and Annie Mae Alcott Sherrod; husband, Lee Hanks Brown; brothers, Oliver Sherrod Jr. and William “Bud” Sherrod; sister, Annie Ruth Oglesby. Mrs. Brown loved being with her family and liked going around and visiting her friends on Sunday. She attended the Twin City Church of God.
Survivors include her son, Jesse S. (Kathy) Brown of Twin City; daughters, Nancy Brown of Twin City and Julia (Pewee) Flores of Twin City; brothers, Green (Barbara) Sherrod of Twin City, James Earl Sherrod of Stillmore; 5 grandchildren, Jessica (Andrew) Bazemore of Twin City, Brandi (Beto) Avilez of Soperton, Dwayne Corley of Twin City, Dale Brown of Twin City, and Justin Hall of Twin City; 7 great grandchildren, Allison Avilez, Ashton Avilez, Kayla Brown, Miley Grace Corley, Aerin Bazemore, Zackery Sweat, Dakota Sweat, and Jr. Bazemore; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at the Chapel of Chapman Funeral Home at 2 o’clock Tuesday, October 30, 2012 with Rev. George Archer, Jr. and Rev. James Davis, Jr. officiating. Burial will be in the Old Canoochee Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday October 29, 2012 at Chapman Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Cory Edwards, Lamar Sherrod, Buddy Samples, Adam Burns, Chris Slater, Brandon Slater, Bobby Brown and Justin Gay.
