Margie Martin

Mrs. Margie Martin, 73, passed away at her residence on July 22, 2026.

Mrs. Margie was born in Emanuel County in 1953 to the late James David “J.D” and Bertha Downs Beckworth. She owned and operated Donnie’s Body Shop with her family in Swainsboro for many many years. She enjoyed watching Hallmark movies. She was a member of the Swainsboro First Church of the Nazarene and was a true Christian woman.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Pete Martin, her son, Jonathan David Waters, her parents, siblings, Donnald “Donnie” Beckworth, Sr., Jimmy Beckworth, Tommy Beckworth, Nolan Beckworth, Anne Newsome, Carolyn Mimbs, grandchildren, Troy Boulineau, Jr., and Tyler Beckworth.

She is survived by her daughter, Tammy Brown, her step-children, Angie Smith, Chuck Martin, her grandchildren, Jonathan (Courtney Peebles) Brown, Brandi Martin, Tabitha Lynn Smith, and Jamie Lynn Morgan, 12 great-grandchildren, a step-brother, Billy Poole, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 28, 2026 at Chapman Funeral Home at 2:00pm with Rev. Mark Hardin officiating. The family will receive friends for an hour prior to the service.

Interment will follow at Hall Cemetery.
