Mrs. Martha Henry Fields, 95, of Swainsboro passed away Saturday, March 19, 2016 at Pruitt Health of Swainsboro following an extended illness.
Mrs. Fields was born August 15, 1920 in Swainsboro to the late Ridge Henry and Estelle Cooper Fields. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Rudolph Fields; brothers, Harris Henry, Charlie Henry, Ebb Henry; sister, Macy Henry. Mrs. Fields was a lifelong resident of Emanuel County and a Charter Member of Hillcrest Baptist Church. She was a real southern lady, she loved cooking, taking care of children, and playing bridge and canasta with other couples.
Survivors include her son, Rudy (Roberta) Fields of Warner Robins; daughter, Patricia (Chris) Thompson of Swainsboro; sister, Carolyn Parker of Swainsboro; grandchildren, Ernie (Teresa) Fields of Bonaire, Greg (Nicole) Fields of Warner Robins, Kelly Thompson, Melonie Thompson Jones, Tracy Thompson all of Swainsboro; great- grandchildren, Carman Fields, Hart Fields, Zach Thompson, Tyler Thompson; several nieces, nephews and friends.
Graveside services will be held at the Swainsboro City Cemetery 3:00 p.m. Sunday evening, March 20, 2016 with Reverend Franklin Sasser officiating.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Sunday evening, March 20, 2016 at Chapman Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are grandsons and great-grandsons.
