Mrs. Martha Nipper Screws, 93, of Swainsboro passed away Tuesday morning, July 23, 2013 at her residence following an extended illness.
Mrs. Screws was born in Macon and a life long residence of Emanuel County. She was preceded in death by her parents William Uster (Doc) Nipper and Cynthia E. Cunningham Nipper; husband, Homer Lynwood Screws; son, James W. (Jim) Screws; daughter, Marthalynn Screws; and brother, William Uster (Bill) Nipper.
Survivors include her 5 grandchildren, Michelle Wells, Mary Hewlett, Miranda Horne, Matthew Screws and Jami Screws; 7 great grandchildren; three nieces, Cindy Davis, Dianne Phail and Lark Nipper; 4 nephews, Bill Nipper, Raymond Nipper and Fred Daniel.
Funeral services will be held at the chapel of Chapman Funeral Home at 1:00 o’clock Friday, July 26, 2013 with Reverend Clarence Thompson officiating. Burial will be in the Swainsboro City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 11 am until time of service at Chapman Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are Fred Daniel, Matthew Screws, Daniel Wells and Danny Terry.
