Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Braswell Barwick, 68, of Swainsboro died Sunday, May 29, 2011 in Ogeechee Area Hospice, Statesboro following an extended illness.
Mrs. Barwick was born in Toombs County and was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Fannie Love Braswell; husband of 25 years Jessie Billy Barwick. She was a seamstress with Oak Park Manufacturing before retiring and was a member of Oak Park Church of God.
Survivors include her sons, Billy Joe and Debbie Barwick of Swainsboro; Larry Leon and Angie Barwick of Vidalia; and John David and Bobbie Jo Barwick of Oak Park; daughters, Mary Ann and Donnie Rioux of Metter; Lisa and Keith Turbyfill of Oak Park; brothers, Remer Braswell of AL; Billy Braswell of Swainsboro; Donald Braswell of SC; sisters, Sandra Whitfield of Twin City; Gail Rowland of Swainsboro; Glenda Moxley of Swainsboro; Carolyn Way of Swainsboro; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held in the chapel of Chapman Funeral Home, Swainsboro at 11 o’clock Wednesday, June 1, with Evangelist Lynn Chance officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Park City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 31 at Chapman Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Daniel Moxley, Joey Cobb, Randy Hughes, Donald Smith, Terry Youngblood, Sean Beckum, Michael Davis and Lloyd Slater.
Honorary Pallbearers will be employees of the United Post Acute Care, Swainsboro
