Mary Catherine Braddy

Mrs. Mary Catherine Braddy, 87, of Swainsboro passed away Sunday, August 12, 2018 at Emanuel Medical Center following an extended illness.

Mrs. Braddy was born February 24, 1931 in Soperton, Ga. to the late Lee Edker and Dorie  Beasley Edker. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John Randolph Braddy; sons, Johnny Hugh Braddy, and Randy Evans Braddy; sisters, Cilla Toler, Sue Hutcheson, and Luck Love; grandson, Adam Braddy; great-granddaughter, Jade Braddy. Mrs. Braddy was a homemaker and had worked at Swainsboro Sportswear and Liberty Bell. She was of the Baptist Faith.

Survivors include her sons, Jimmy Braddy (Dawn) of Oak Park, Jerry Braddy (Louise), and Jackie Braddy both of Swainsboro; 15 grandchildren; 39 great- grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and many friends.

Funeral Services will be in the chapel of Chapman Funeral 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 14, 2018 with Reverend June Scott officiating.

Interment will follow in Summertown Methodist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, August 13, 2018 at Chapman Funeral Home.

Pallbearers are Lisa Chavarria, Teresa Howell, Michelle Braddy, Nicole Hilliard, Jessica Edenfield, and Lynn Sapp.

Honorary Pallbearers are Allen Durden, John Braddy, Jimmy W. Braddy, and Rusty Braddy.
