Mrs. Mary Burke Elliot, 69, of Swainsboro, died Saturday, December 5, 2015 at her residence following an extended illness.
Mrs. Elliot was born in Twin City, Ga. April 20, 1946 to the late James Burke and Ruby Brown Burke. She was a lifelong residence of Emanuel County. She was a homemaker, Sunday School Teacher, and Girl Scout Leader. She loved gardening and spending time with family especially her granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Margie Woodell, Sydney Rachels, and Allene Bell.
Survivors include her husband, Charles Elliot, Jr. of Swainsboro; son, Chuck Elliot, of Ashville, NC.; daughter, Monica Elliot of Swainsboro; brother, Lamar (Linda) Burke of Millen; sister, Shirley (Ronnie) Waters of Sylvania; Granddaughter, Allison Price of Swainsboro; several nieces, nephews and friends.
Services will be in the chapel of Chapman Funeral Home at 6 p.m. Monday evening, December 7, 2015 with Reverend Franklin Sasser officiating.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 6 p.m. Monday evening, December 7, 2015 at Chapman Funeral Home.
