Mrs. Mary Pollett, 88, of Swainsboro passed away Saturday morning, October 14, 2017 at the Emanuel County Nursing Home.
Mrs. Pollett was born September 27, 1929 in Uvalda, Ga. to the late Mack McCoy and Marintha Loyd McCoy. She is preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Flanders Newsome and Marion Pollett. Mrs. Pollett was always helping others especially when it came to her children and grandchildren. She was known as the Matriarch of the family. Mrs. Pollett was a member of Eastwood Church of God for over 30 years.
Survivors include her daughters, Charlotte Blocker of Lakeland FL, and Jan Newsome of Swainsboro; son, Johnny Newsome of Dublin; grandchildren, Jason Cochran, Kathryn (Jud) Rahn, Steven (Dorothy) Hudson, Shana (Ben) Faircloth, Eric Hudson, Jody Hudson; great-grandchildren, Racyn Faircloth, Alaya Hudson, Aubrey Hudson, Cadon Rahn, Claire Rahn, and Jaxson Hudson; several nieces, nephews, and friends.
Funeral Services will be held in the Chapel of Chapman Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 16, 2017 with Reverends Bruce Flowers and Allen Meeks officiating.
Interment will follow in the Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery near Kite.
The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Monday, October 16, 2017 at Chapman Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are Ben Faircloth, Jud Rahn, Racyn Faircloth, Eric Hudson, Jody Hudson, and Steven Hudson.
