Mrs. Mary “Sally” Coleman, 80, of Swainsboro passed away, Sunday, January 18, 2026, at Memorial Medical in Vidalia. She was born on January 11, 1946, in Swainsboro to the late Kirklin White and Nita Rebecca Hudson White.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Oliver Ray Coleman; stepfather, Raymond Turner.
Mrs. Sally was a woman whose life was defined by kindness, service, and an open heart. As a child, Sally moved to Tampa, Florida, where she learned the value of hard work at an early age. She helped run the family feed store and took on paper routes with her mom. Even in those early years, Sally was known for offering a helping hand to anyone in need, whether it was a person or an animal.
In 1973, Sally moved to Virginia to begin her career in the medical field. For the next 30 years, she devoted herself to caring for others. Helping people was never just a job for Sally, it was who she was. As a true servant of the Lord, she expressed her love by cooking and sharing meals with family, friends, and anyone who walked through her door.
Sally was truly multi-talented, with a creative spirit that was expressed through her love of arts and crafts. She also had a special love for si-fi movies and could talk about them for hours. In her later years, she enjoyed explaining each character and which movie they came from.
Above all, Sally was a deeply caring and selfless soul. She willingly put everything else aside to care for her mother and father in their later years, giving them the same love and devotion she showed everyone. Her greatest pride and joy were her grandchildren, as she spent the last of her golden years creating treasured memories with them.
Survivors include her sons, Sidney Jordan (Marsha), Philip Jordan; daughter, Holly Stark (Jeff); stepchildren, Raeanna Coleman (Cindy), Allen Scott “Buzz” Hill, III, Elizabeth Bell (Carlo), Terri Smith (Robert); grandchildren, Kristen McMillan, Clair Jordan, Nicholle Stark, Zachary Stark, 19 other grandchildren; great-grandchildren, Adrean Stark, Judah McMillan; and several others.
