Mrs. Mary Irene Rich, 79, of Swainsboro passed away Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at her residence following a brief illness.
Mrs. Rich was born October 9, 1935 in St. Petersburg Florida to the late John Jamison and Frances Gray Jamison. Mrs. Rich lived in Florida until 1979 when she moved to Swainsboro. She retired from the Emanuel County Board of Education as a secretary. She loved going to the beach, listening to music, playing computer games and loved her grandchildren. Mrs. Rich was a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church in Swainsboro.
Survivors include her husband, D.D. Rich of Swainsboro; daughters, Becky Rich Ellis of Palm Coast FL and Leta Frances (Jose) Fuentes of Swainsboro; brother, Robert Jamison of Oregon; grandchildren, Brad (Marcie) Baxter of Swainsboro, Chris (Jamie) Ellis of Ft. Eustis VA, and Alexa Fuentes of Swainsboro; great grandchildren, Blayde Baxter, Alex Ellis, Brayden Baxter, Trenton Ellis, Carsen Ellis, Braylee Baxter and Emmalee Ellis; several nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be held at the chapel of Chapman Funeral Home at 4:30 p.m. Thursday afternoon, February 5, 2015 with Reverend Marty McLeod officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday evening, February 4, 2015 at Chapman Funeral Home.
