Mrs. Mary Nell Jones David, 47, of Nunez died Wednesday afternoon, March 6, 2013 at the Emanuel Medical Center in Swainsboro following an extended illness.
Mrs. David was born in Swainsboro and a life long resident of Emanuel County. She was preceded in death by her father, Clarence “Punk” Jones; and son, Randall Jones. Before coming ill, Mrs. David was an all around country girl. She enjoyed the outdoors and time with her family. She was of the Church of God faith.
Survivors include her husband, Mark David of Nunez; mother, Mary Frances Smith of Nunez; sons, Charles Collins (Shanna Herrington) of Nunez and Preston Jones of Nunez; stepsons, Shane David and Shaune David both of Nunez and Mark (Danielle) David, Jr. of Cobbtown; daughters, Christy H. Pierce of Oak Park, Rhonda Jones (Joey Johnson) of Blun and Nikki Jones of Nunez; stepdaughter, Angela McDaniel (Derrick Oglesby) of Oak Park; brothers, Leonard (Cindy) Jones and Jamie (Celita) Jones both of Canoochee, Matt (Mary) Jones of Stillmore, Ryan (Rhonda) Jones of Metter and Greg Evans of Swainsboro; sisters, Marie (Johnny) Bennett and Ann (Kenneth) Smith both of Canoochee; 22 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at the chapel of Chapman Funeral Home at 11 o’clock Friday, morning March 8, 2013 with Chaplain Roger Holley, Keith Johnson and Lon Hadden officiating. Burial will be in the New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery near Swainsboro.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 7, 2013 at Chapman Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Allen Drake, Billy Williamson, Todd Hooks, Kyle Jones, Lon Hadden and Larry Fortescue.
