Mrs. Melinda Sue Hutcheson Reeves (Sue), 61, of Lake Greenwood, SC formerly of Adrian passed away peacefully at her home Monday, December 29, 2014 after a three year battle with ovarian cancer.
Sue was born in Swainsboro Nov. 28, 1953 to Newburn Hutcheson and Ruth Henry Hutcheson. She was preceded in death by her father, Newburn Hutcheson and brother, Neal Hutcheson. Mrs. Reeves graduated from Adrian High School. She attended West Georgia and East Georgia Colleges, The University of Georgia and Piedmont Technical College of South Carolina. Mrs. Reeves was a South Carolina Registered Nurse.
Survivors include her husband, Mickey Reeves of Lake Greenwood, SC; sons, Bill Reeves (Brandi) of Apex, NC and Matt Reeves of Enoree, SC; mother, Ruth Henry Hutcheson of Adrian; brothers, Keith Hutcheson (Kim) of Dublin, Lynn Hutcheson (Vanessa) of Swainsboro and Sean Hutcheson of Wrightsville, sister, Mitzi Carter (Clark) of Evans; granddaughter, Georgia Reeves of Apex, NC; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be held at the chapel of Chapman Funeral Home at 2 o’clock Thursday afternoon January 1, 2015 with Elder J. E. Griffis officiating.
Burial will be in the Mt. Zion Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery near Norristown.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday January 1, 2014 at Chapman Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Mike Henry, Tal Henry, Jamie Henry, Chad Hutcheson, Todd Hutcheson and Tim Hutcheson.
Honorary Pallbearers are Seth Hutcheson, Steve Jones and Wayland Jones.
