Mr. Michael Johnson, 70, of Canoochee passed away Tuesday Morning, February 16, 2016 at his residence following an extended illness.
Mr. Johnson was born July 28, 1945 in Swainsboro, Ga. to the late Marvin Johnson and Mary Laura Johnson. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Merrill “Buzz Wohlman. Mr. Johnson was a lifelong resident of Emanuel County, and a member of Mt. Olivet Missionary Baptist Church for many years. He worked at Argo Mills for 20 years and was a supervisor. He loved restoring old cars, fishing, hunting, gardening, gospel music, and nascar racing. He especially loved his family and church.
Survivors include his wife, Gail Johnson of Canoochee; sons, Rodney Johnson, and Brett Johnson both of Canoochee; brothers, Roger (Ruby) Johnson of Midville, Jake Wohlman of Manila, Philippines and Teressa Wohlman of Swainsboro; sisters, Polly Stewart of Savannah, Sarah Wohlman of Vera Beach, Fl, Mary Hamby of Lancaster, S.C., Josepha Wells of Destin, Fl.; several nieces, nephews and friends.
Memorial service will be at Mt. Olivet Missionary Baptist Church 3:00 p.m. Thursday afternoon, February 18, 2016 with Reverends Tommy Pulliam and Randy Adams officiating.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00 pm. Thursday afternoon, February 18, 2016 at Mt. Olivet Missionary Baptist Church.
