Mr. Michael Joe “Mikey” Walker, Jr, 21, of Swainsboro died Saturday, February 4, 2017 from injuries sustained from a motor vehicle accident.
Mr. Walker was born October 30, 1995 in Swainsboro. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Debbie Walker. Mr. Walker was a 2015 High school Graduate from ECI where he played Linebacker for the ECI Bulldogs. He was part of the 2012 Football State Champions. Mr. Walker was employed with Interfor and a member of the Carpenter Union, and United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America. He was also a member of Summertown Baptist Church. Mr. Walker loved his family and friends.
Survivors include his parents, Beth and Andy Love; Michael and Natasha Walker, Sr; sisters, Olivia Boatright, Maggie Walker, Lindsey Love, Lorie Love, and Abby Morris; brother, Jarret Morris; maternal grandparents, Donna and George Kirkland, Johnny and Vickie Way, Jr., and Martha and Edward Love; paternal grandparents, Joe Walker; several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be held at Hillcrest Baptist Church at 5 p.m. Tuesday afternoon, February 7, 2017 with Reverends Josh Black and Keith Claxton officiating.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday evening, February 6, 2017 at Chapman Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Mitchell Cowart, Zach Thompson, J-Rod Downer, Zach Folds, Mason Johnson, Corey Pellerin, and Seth Frederick.
Honorary Pallbearers are the ECI class of 2015.
